We are proud to announce the signing of Johannesburg, South Africa based TRUTH AND ITS BURDEN. The band’s new album ‘Choices’ is set to be released on May 22nd through Rite of Passage; a song from the album titled “Threadbare” can be listened to on the band’s Facebook page located HERE!
Formed in 2008, TRUTH AND ITS BURDEN started out as an idea to bring a sincere message of hope, and to do so with a real sense of urgency. Those same ideals that gave life to this band still chorus through in every song 4 years later. To be aware, to challenge, to follow through, to ignite ideas into dreams, to re-invigorate life itself and to find meaning and purpose. Over the past four years, the band has toured throughout Europe and Africa with bands like The Ghost Inside, Haste The Day, Have Heart, and many others.
“The main idea behind ‘Choices’ is pretty simple;” stated vocalist Ashley DeBeer. “Making choices that reflect clear consideration for dreams and aspirations, it’s not something that merely applies to me/us alone, but rather something many can relate to. I wrote a lot of the songs during a period in my life when change was necessary and I guess with choices in my life I found there was a constant balancing act that took place.”
“There are many contributing factors to making serious life decisions that balance a good choice and help make things a little clearer,” added DeBeer. “Many of the songs reflect the idea of finding myself, building myself, deciding things and just trying to make a conscious effort at being a better person in general.”

Rite of Passage Records is proud to announce the addition of southern California’s ARISTEIA to its roster of artists. The band recently recorded a demo of a new track titled “Lethal Devotion” with Diego Farias of Volumes handling the production/mixing. It is a new year which means new releases! We recently put out the new EPs from The Sheds & Redeemer for FREE. Yep, we gave these sweet albums for free! You can find The Sheds album on Alternative Press's website and you can find Redeemers album on Lambgoat's website. We will be releasing these two EPs on Vinyl & CD but only a limited amount. Both of these EPs will be out on March 13th, 2012 along with the new album from Float Face Down "Exitum Verum"!

Rite of Passage / Mediaskare Records has signed Bradenton, Florida band ADALIAH. The band entered The Brick Hithouse today with producer Shane Frisby (Bury Your Dead, The Ghost Inside) to begin recording their debut album, which will be released in early 2012.
“Rite of Passage / Mediaskare has a reputation of supporting a band to create success with them, all while maintaining a trusting and non-intrusive relationship with the bands creative output,” stated drummer Mark Abbacchi. “They actually care about the music.”
Formed in 2008, Adaliah has been amassing a loyal fan base on the east coast through constant touring in support of their self-released EP. “Our goal is to get listeners to feel emotion,” said the band. “We put our own hearts into every song we write, and every song is about something that has impacted our lives in a certain way. We want our listeners to relate to our songs and feel something, whether it be anger, happiness, or regret.”

Rite of Passage / Mediaskare Records is proud to announce the signing of Phoenix, AZ based band REDEEMER. Formed in 2009, REDEEMER started as the means for its members to express their passion for hardcore music and share the everlasting love of Jesus Christ to a music scene where “God Free” is becoming a trend. “We want people to know that there is hope,” commented the band. “We've all had bad experiences within churches and felt betrayed, but it's important that we not blame God or turn from His love because of this.”
For further insight on their music, the band offered the following “We write songs about struggle and about pain because we all know about that. Our relationship with Jesus Christ is our focus, not religion or the dividing walls of a hierarchy. We have to come back to the heart of worship. Our songs are written mostly about things that we've all struggled with individually or as a whole such as our own pride, our struggle at times to keep praising through the storm, struggles with being hurt by church communities, and spiritual battles that have torn all of us apart in our own respect.”
When it came time to choosing a label, the band decided on Rite of Passage / Mediaskare Records, stating “Their roster is full of amazing bands that we'd love to be able to associate ourselves with in the future.”

Rite of Passage / Mediaskare Records is proud to announce the addition of Los Angeles, CA based band THE SHEDS to its roster of artists. The band, which features brothers Mac, Evan, and Morgan Miller along with drummer Mark Blaker, formed in 2005 as a way for the brothers to play cover songs for fun. Over the years the band transformed from just a cover band into a full-fledged group with a growing west coast following thanks to multiple tours, including time on the Vans Warped Tour.
“The most appealing aspect of signing with Rite of Passage / Mediaskare was the fact that we are a completely different kind of band than anyone they've ever worked with,” stated vocalist Mac Miller. “I'm excited to work with people who are excited to work with us.”
The band will enter Undercity Recordings in October to begin work on their debut EP for the label. The effort will be released digitally and on 7” vinyl this winter. A previously unreleased track from the band titled “Heart” is now available for listening on the band’s Facebook page located here http://www.facebook.com/thesheds.
“We want people to approach listening to us with an open mind. I know we're not for everyone, but we're doing something there isn't a so-called "scene" for,” said the band. “We sing our songs from the heart and hope people will relate to them.”

Rite Of Passage Records have announced the signing of Riverside, California’s Darasuum and Los Angeles’s Deserters. Both bands will have new EP’s dropping on 9/27 with “Bite Back” by Darasuum and the “Fail Yourself” EP by Deserters. Exclusive pre-order bundles featuring t-shirt and hoodies with CD’s are up now at Merch Connection Inc.
Delivering upbeat and passionate hardcore Darasuum includes ex members of XBound In Bloodx, xDeathstarX and The Great Comission have been around since 2009. The group has toured with such bands as Stick To Your Guns and Sleeping Giant.
Deserters also bring the fury and include touring members of Suffokate in their ranks. The band has spent time on the road with The Ghost Inside among other bands.
Rite Of Passage Records is an new imprint from Mediaskare Records and is a home for up and coming bands that the label feel excited about and who need a home to launch their national careers from without being exposed to too much too soon.

We have three amazing releases coming out this summer from Creations, Float Face Down, & Stand Your Ground. All three bands albums are 100% finished and they will all be posting new songs very shortly. You can catch Creations & Stand Your Ground on tour this spring on the INRI Clothing "Young Bloods" Tour with Sovereign Strength, The Burial, & Saving Grace. Float Face Down have announced their new U.S. tour with Murder Death Kill, King Conquer, & Bermuda. Stand Your Ground have also announced another new tour in May/June with It Prevails, Life On Repeat, We Are Defiance, & Affiance!

Welcome to the Rite Of Passage Records website! Today marks the debut of the new sub-label from Mediaskare Records. The first three signings to the label are Creations from California/Australia, Float Face Down from New Jersey, & Stand Your Ground from Tennessee. We are very excited to be working with these new up and coming bands. Creations will be releasing their debut album "The Gospel" in the early summer.
